DENTAL IMPLANTS IN MUNICH-SENDLING
Implants are artificial tooth roots made of the highly stable and well-tolerated metal titanium, more rarely they are made of ceramic. They are inserted into the jawbone, grow in firmly within a few weeks and then serve as a stable fixation for a crown, bridge or prosthesis. Implants are suitable for all types of tooth loss.

Implant-supported dentures can completely replace the tooth. Therefore, it has many functional and aesthetic advantages over conventional bridges or dentures. With implants you can chew well again and speak and laugh in public without any worries.
MORE QUALITY OF LIFE WITH DENTAL IMPLANTS / MUNICH-SENDLING
- They feel almost like your own teeth in your mouth.
- Implants generally look more natural than conventional bridges or dentures.
- An attachment to other teeth is not necessary. This means that your teeth are spared.
- Like natural tooth roots, implants exert pressure on the jawbone. This prevents bone loss, which inevitably occurs over the years with bridges and dentures.
- Unlike conventional full dentures, implant-supported solutions offer secure retention.
In the demanding field of implantology, further training and experience are important prerequisites for being able to treat patients at a high quality level and in accordance to the current state of knowledge.
Dr. von Rakowski has special qualifications in this field as a graduate of the Curriculum Implantology of the European Academy of Dental Education (eazf) – a one-year certified training series.
Nowadays, implants are usually made of titanium, a metal known for its stability combined with low weight. As an alternative, our Sendling practice offers ceramic implants. This allows us to offer patients a metal-free implant treatment.
Biological compatibility advantage
- A restoration without metal is biocompatible and tissue-friendly. Ceramic implants are particularly suitable for people who want to avoid metal in the mouth, as well as for patients with metal intolerance.
- Ceramics exclude interactions with other metal-containing dentures (dental prostheses)
Advantage of natural aesthetics
- Ceramic implants can be used to achieve particularly aesthetic results: The appearance of natural teeth is deceptively imitated
- In case of later recession of the gums, no dark titanium edge can be displayed
- Even with thin gums, in contrast to the metallic-gray titanium implants, the white ceramic implants cannot “shimmer through”

In the case of bone recession, there may not be enough jaw bone for implants to be firmly held in place. For this situation, modern bone augmentation procedures are available today. This makes it possible to create the necessary conditions for successful implant treatment.
We perform the following bone augmentation methods:
- Sinus lift (external or internal): Special bone augmentation in case of low bone height in the area of the maxillary molars.
- Bone spreading: If the jawbone is too narrow, it can be widened by bone spreading.
In general, implants can last a lifetime. The prerequisite for this is good dental care in combination with regular implant prophylaxis. This includes careful checks and intensive removal of plaque. You will also receive detailed instructions for your own implant care.
